I’m about to open the doors to my next offer, and I couldn’t be more excited. This offer has been something I’ve wanted to create since the very beginning of my business (and actually tried to create in 2019, but my business wasn’t at the level to handle it yet).

Goals I’m working on right now:

    My new offer

    7 figure business

    Building a community in Sydney

  • Hey! I’m Sarah.

I set goals to feel alive.

    Sweaty palms.
    Racing heart.

    Can’t think of anything else.

Combining my background in Psychology with my training as a High Performance Coach, I help ambitious entrepreneurs, creatives and athletes achieve their goals.

l created this blog to share behind-the-scenes of my own goals and help you push your limits. I'm creating what I wish existed for me to consume.

People often ask if I’ll climb Mt Everest like my parents did in the 90's (as depicted in the 2015 film, Everest).

While I’ve done a little bit of mountaineering (Kilimanjaro in 2011 and Everest Base Camp in 2007) what most people don’t know is that my late dad was also an entrepreneur. I feel most connected to him through our shared love of entrepreneurship and attempting the impossible in all areas of life.

Before: Day 1

Day: 1
Push up ability: 0

If you’ve been following me for a while you might know that I’ve set myself an Impossible Goal to do 100 push ups (You can check out all of my other Impossible Goals here)

Currently I’m at zero push ups (yes, I can’t even do one push up, I can only do them on my knees!)

I’ve always had bad upper body strength, and I feel like it’s really time to do something about it. But if you know me, you know I don’t care to do things in moderation. I love a CHALLENGE. That’s what gets me excited! And if I’m not excited about a goal, there’s really no reason for me to pursue it. So that’s why I’ve set the bar crazy high, at 100 push ups.

I really have no clue how long it will take me to reach that goal. But, after having it on my Impossible Goals List for a while, it’s time to start! I’m starting today. On a random Tuesday in August. Because although I love a fresh start for goals (New Year, Birthdays, First of the Month, Mondays etc.), I know they are all just excuses not to start right now. (Although, don’t get me wrong, I still feel those dates have a special magic to them).

I’m following a free program, it’s called One Hundred Push Ups. According to their chart, I’m currently a rank 1. But not for long!

Here’s the plan for today:

Since I can’t do any push ups at all, I’m modifying this program by beginning with my knees on the floor.
Right - I’m off to attempt them now - wish me luck!

Is anyone else attempting something like this? I’d love to hear!

Why I don't have a bucket list

In theory, a Bucket List sounds like a great idea. Before you die, you complete a list of all the things you’ve ever dreamed of experiencing.

Except it has one major flaw: time.

I don’t set goals of things I want to do before I die, because I don’t know when I’m going to die. I could spend my whole life thinking I’ve still got years and years to achieve my bucket list, but find out my time is up tomorrow. Paris? Pop it on the Bucket List and deal with it later. Convenient, right? No no no! I feel like a Bucket List is procrastination in disguise; a way to postpone our dreams, to put them off until later so we don’t have to actually face them now. It’s why people spend their lives in jobs they hate, talking about things they’ll do "someday”. But someday never comes. There might not even be a TOMORROW.

That’s why I only set goals and dreams that I’m actively pursuing. That doesn’t mean I can’t dream big, or far into the future. In fact, I’m the biggest dreamer I know! But I’m also the biggest ACTION TAKER. As in today. As in right now. I am dedicated to working towards my biggest, wildest dreams every single day. Even if they might not happen for 30 years.

I’d even be willing to say that there hasn’t been a day in the last 6 months where I haven’t been actively working towards SOMETHING I’m dreaming of:

Getting in the best shape of my life.

Building my business.

Doing a TED talk.

Growing my Youtube Channel.

Blogging.

Running a retreat.

We’ve got one shot at this life, so I’m pursuing it all right now.

Celebrate your wins

Even my face mask had “to do list” written on it, haha! A sign?!

Even my face mask had “to do list” written on it, haha! A sign?!

Today I took a few hours today to celebrate my wins in the last week with friends - face masks, delicious food and even an hour of Virtual Reality (that was insanely cool!).

In the last week I:

  1. Launched my membership site, Impossible Incubator, something I’ve been working on for 5 months!

  2. Ran my first ever mastermind call, and it was FANTASTIC. So many insights of my own about my own goals and dreams (namely: dream EVEN bigger!).

  3. Booked a trip to Budapest for this coming weekend to go to a Personal & Business Development event with one of my favourite coaches in the world.

  4. Had my best friend Georgia to stay, all the way from Singapore.

  5. Connected with a fellow coach to work alongside in the future.

  6. Had 3 amazing client calls that were all transformative and on FIRE.

  7. Have been showing up every single day online, just liked I’d planned.

  8. Have set some even bigger goals and commitments for August & September around my Impossible Goals (Particularly for my Youtube channel & my 100 Push Ups). I’ll share all about them soon!

  9. Up-leveled my mindset again. I feel like I’m really getting grips with how important it is to SHOW UP EVERY SINGLE DAY for my goals.

I think it’s really important to acknowledge our successes, no matter how small they are. It can be so easy to shrug off our triumphs day to day as nothing, but when you look back over a week (or a year!), you realise how far you’ve truly come. I don’t want to rush onto the next goal without celebrating each step of the way. Otherwise, what’s the point?

If you haven’t taken a moment to look back recently, take a moment to write a list of your successes and thank yourself making the sacrifices it took to get here. You might be surprised at how far you’ve actually come such a short time!

Mastermind

Screen Shot 2019-08-11 at 1.13.38 AM.png

Today I ran my first ever mastermind call in my membership site, Impossible Incubator. And I’m absolutely blown away with how inspiring the members are - striving for their wildest dreams, having the guts to share their deepest, rawest, desires with the group and commit to taking action way out of their comfort zones.

It can be super nerve-wracking sharing your wildest dreams with people. It can be embarrassing. What if they don’t get it? What if they laugh? Or judge me? What if they think I can’t do it?

But I’ve decided I don't want to be embarrassed or apologetic for wanting to experience extraordinary things in this ONE SHOT we have at life!

I’m genuinely feeling so grateful and humbled to have had the opportunity to create my dream community. As much as I’ve created this for other people, it’s equally been a passion project that I’ve created for me. For years, I’ve longed to be part of a community of people who believe in doing outrageous, wild, impossible things. I’ve wanted that support, I’ve wanted to be that support for others. I just didn’t know what it looked like. And now it’s here, and I couldn’t be more grateful.

My absolute heartfelt thanks and love to everyone who has made it possible for me to be here.

This feeling, having achieved something I’ve worked so hard for, is unlike anything else. I’m so used to seeing my goals and dreams in my mind, like I’m seeing the picture on the box of a puzzle, and I’ve got thousands of pieces to put together.

Impossible Incubator is only just starting, and it’s only the beginning of a much bigger vision, but it feels like I’ve clicked together the first two tiny pieces of the puzzle.

And it’s starting to look like the picture on the box.

To actually do list

IMG_0621.jpg
BFAECC33-842B-4AFC-BBC0-DC7BE15E60D1.jpg

Today I experimented with making my to do list completely non-negotiable. You would think that’s the whole point of a to-do list, but for some reason my mind likes to pick and choose what I’ll actually follow through on.

When I write the list I have every intention of doing everything on it and being mega productive and progressive, but somehow when I come to actually follow through, I don’t do it. But what does that say about my commitment to my goals and dreams? It says I don’t care enough. And I don’t want that to be true.

So how did today go?
I got everything done. I’m actually a little bit surprised!
There was a point where I thought I wouldn’t, because I was completely running out of time to water the allotment (so I had to change my schedule around to do it in the evening instead) and then I didn’t feel like doing a livestream, but I just made sure I prioritised my list over my other activities (a.k.a. fluffing around on social media).

“Do a livestream” has been on my list every single day for 9 days now. Today was the first day I followed through, because I just made it absolutely non negotiable. Not doing it just wasn’t an option. Even as I write this I can see how silly it is that I didn’t do it at some point in the last 9 days.

My biggest takeaway is that this technique really makes you FACE the mental obstacles and blocks head on. I hadn’t done a livestream ever on Instagram so I had a mental block saying “put it off, it will take so much preparation to do a good one…blah blah blah." But because I HAD to do it, and I didn’t have much time, I just sat down and did it in the space of 10 minutes. I swear, just making my commitments non-negotiable is changing my life (it worked with exercise and meditation too).

I did get a LOT done today. But as someone pointed out, I also wasn’t really in a “flow” state. It was quite forced. My full morning routine took twice as long as I thought it would (I usually do some of it in the evening so I don’t realise how long it actually takes). About 1.5 hours. Eeeek.

It’s 2am and I just got back from a party (as you can see from the photo above), which was actually on my list of to dos - “do something fun with Georgia in the evening” (I’m 100% sober, but it still takes effort to write a blog post at this time!). I wanted to make sure I actually wrote this at the end of my day so I could sum up properly:

To sum up:

  1. From now on I’m only going to add things to my daily to do list if I actually intend on doing them that day, because I am committing to viewing my daily to do lists as non-negotiable from now on. I think I’ll start writing a “to actually do list” instead of a to do list.

  2. I’m going to make some changes to my morning routine to streamline it and get more in a flow state of mind with it.

  3. The public accountability (Instagram) really motivated me. I don’t think I would have felt as dedicated to it if I hadn’t shared it with the world. So if you’re trying to do something, sharing it publicly somehow (Facebook groups, Instagram, email, offline conversations) can make a big difference.

Let me know if you want to start viewing your to do list as totally non-negotiable too (or if you always have!).

What if you actually did it?

Running in the dark because I’m honouring my commitments no matter what time it is!

Running in the dark because I’m honouring my commitments no matter what time it is!

What would your life look like if you actually followed through on the plans you made?
Where could you be right now?
What if you actually did what you said you were gonna do?
What if you actually honoured your commitments to yourself?
What if you actually did the things you said you would?

What kind of life could you be living?

I heard a version of these questions today and its haunted me all day.
It pushed me to go for a run at 9:30pm even though it was dark. It pushed me to write this blog post. It pushed me to actually view my progress list (like a to-do list but things that ACTUALLY move you forward) as a doorway to my future that is truly non-negotiable.

I think of where I could be right now had I not made so many excuses. I’m so done making excuses.
Tomorrow I’m challenging myself to complete everything I commit to:

Here’s my day tomorrow.

Friday:

Morning routine (gratitude journal, run, breakfast, mediate, mindset, shower, teeth)

Water plants at allotment (bring container for berries)

10am meeting

Creating vision boards with Georgia

Prep for client “L” (keeping her identity private)

Coach client L

Meeting with marketing expert 5:30pm

Post on stories

Post on blog

Do a livestream answering Q&As

Do something fun with Georgia in the evening

Of these, the tasks that will actually progress my life are: vision board, meeting with marketing expert, and doing the livestream. That means they are paramount.

I’ll report back tomorrow - do this challenge with me!

You are bamboo

bamboo-grass-plant-2534507.jpg

Bamboo gestates for 3 years under the ground, never seeing the light, and then finally pokes it’s head out and can grow up to 4 feet a day, growing into it’s full form in just 60 days.

You are bamboo.

Whatever you’re working on - your business, your health, your fitness, your impossible goals , if nothing seems to be happening, it’s because you are doing the gestation part right now. The incubating part.

As long as you keep watering the seeds, they will sprout.

Play the long game.

After a whole year of working full time in my coaching business, I feel like i’ve just finished planting the seeds. I’ve finally stopped working ON my business (editing my website, my logo, creating my products, planning everything), and started working IN my business. A YEAR! (Tip: don’t spend a year planting your seeds like I did - get onto the watering part ASAP).

So now it’s time for me to water them, every single day, until one day BAM! I am confident that massive success will sprout - and seemingly out of nowhere for those who haven’t seen the effort that’s gone in.

That’s why people look like overnight successes. Because they’re bamboo.

BUT HERE’S THE THING:

If you don’t WATER your seeds daily, they will not GROW.
A.K.A. You’ve started on the brilliant idea/goal/dream, but then you give up on them because they aren’t giving you immediate results. Note to self (and to you): YOU DO NOT GIVE UP. You water those seeds every single day, until you see them shoot into giant shoots of bamboo.

Joining a gym is planting the seeds. Actually going to the gym daily is watering them.

If your goals don’t seem to be happening, add more water. Everyday.

Surprise!

As you guys know, I launched Impossible Incubator yesterday (and it’s already on FIRE, we’ve got 11 people signed up and already creating plans for their impossible goals!). My best friend Georgia is staying with me, and at 10am, she drove me to a secret location in Brighton and asked me to wait in the car. I had no idea what was going on (since she had never even been to Brighton before but seemed to know where to go, I was like, what is going on?!), I just got on Instagram Stories and documented the whole thing!

It turns out, as a celebration for my launch, she had ordered gourmet vegan cupcakes adorned with edible Impossible Incubator logos! I hit publish on the website and we celebrated (in a decorated room too!).

I’ve learned SO much in the last 5 months creating Impossible Incubator:

  1. Everything always takes at least twice as much time to do as you think it will to create

  2. Just because you don’t have a giant email list or a huge following or a Facebook group of 10,000 (or any other excuse you’re making), doesn’t mean you can’t do your dream NOW. There’s no such thing as too young to start.

  3. There are people out there who will hate your ideas. And that’s a good thing. A GOOD THING. It means there are also people out there who will LOVE your ideas (I sat at a table at a business meet up recently where the woman sitting next to me was trying to convince me to change the name of Impossible Incubator to something less “negative sounding”, while the woman across from me was trying to get my details so she could sign up as soon as doors opened).

  4. You will doubt yourself when you’re working towards your dreams. The number of times I thought, “what am i doing?!" is too many to count. Ignore that. Go with your instincts. Your intuition is strong.

  5. Breaking the rules is the best part (I totally did not have a traditional launch where I send 5000 emails, and I don’t have a years worth of content all planned out in advance). This is YOUR goal. Do it YOUR way.

  6. Don’t take advice from people who aren’t where you want to be. I had a lot of people give me their staunch opinions on what they thought Impossible Incubator should be like, even though they’d never created anything even remotely similar before. I respectfully and carefully considered their advice, and then did whatever I wanted to do.

If you’ve been hiding your dream from the world because it’s not “realistic”, it’s time for you to own it. To actually DO something about it. It’s up to YOU to make your wildest dreams happen. NOW is the time. Don’t wake up in a year and realise you’re still in the same place, with the same job, same life, same finances, no further towards your dreams.

I can’t stress it enough, you’ve got to do something RIGHT NOW to move towards your goals.

THIS IS YOUR SIGN

You don’t need anyone’s help to achieve your goals. You truly have the power within you. You don’t need to own anything I’m offering. But if you want to make them happen 10x faster and 10x more easily, then Impossible Incubator is a no brainer. It’s time for you to achieve your biggest goals! Become a member here!

How I stopped caring what people think

IMG_6799.JPG

I used to be so concerned with what people would think about my goals and dreams. So I felt like I couldn’t share anything, especially on Instagram or Facebook.

What if people judge me?
What if I get another creepy message?
What if people say something bad about me?

Guess what? They do all those things - REGARDLESS of what you do, whether you show up or not.
People on the street will judge you.

One day it just HIT ME. Am I willing to sacrifice my dreams because I’m afraid of what other people I don’t even know might think? HELL NO.

Not caring what other people think is a muscle. I have to practice it. The more and more I show up, the less I care what people say. But I’m not perfect yet! I still care what people think to a degree, but each day, everytime I show up, every hater or creepy comment I get, I get better and better at dealing with it.

There’s no magical cure - you’re not going to wake up one day and suddenly not care what anyone thinks. You have to realise it’s YOU holding you back.

People DO judge me.

I get messages and comments DAILY of people expressing that “I shouldn’t be running that much” or “Does everything you say have to be all ‘inspirational?’ Why can’t it just be a normal post?”

Screen Shot 2019-07-29 at 6.06.04 PM.png

In essence, the only way to stop caring about what people think is to get out there and go after what you want. When people judge (and they will) you will begin to grow a thicker skin.
