May 2020 Goals Review

This is always my favourite time, reviewing my goals and setting new ones. I love the process of thinking about what went well, what didn’t and what I will do differently. It’s always so motivating to see how much I can accomplish in a month!

Here's what happened:

I will easily read 10 pages of a book a day in May.

Completed. I didn't love doing this though. It became more of a chore and less fun. In the beginning, I was doing it as part of my morning routine, and then eventually it became something I just "had" to do before I went to sleep. I love reading, and I've actually just bought a new book, but I didn't enjoy having it become a daily task, so instead, from now on, I will read when it feels good (and opt for reading instead of Netflix as much as possible!).

I will easily grow my Facebook Group, Impossible Girls, to 2000 amazing members by 31st May.

This was the only goal I didn't complete this month. I learned a lot from this process, and I don't regret setting my goal this high. In my first month, I hit 500 members. In my second month, we added 300 more members, so now we are at 800. I cherish every single one of you who is in the group, and it has been such an awesome, supportive space that I can't wait to grow. My plan for growth in May worked (I was inviting lots of people to join), but my energy for spending hours growing it every single day waned. I know that it was literally just me choosing not to put the effort in. This goal is coming back for June – and I've got a whole new plan to avoid the burnout I felt in May.

I will easily finish my Logo & Branding by 31st May.
Can I say completed if it's done from my end? Now I'm just waiting on my designer to send me the files – I can't wait to share my new logo with you, I'm so happy with it!

I will easily eat a salad with every lunchtime in May.
Completed! Sometimes this became dinner, but I always managed to eat something healthier than I would have if I wasn't thinking about it. Carrots, cucumber, lettuce, avocado, apple, banana – fresh fruit & vegetables make me feel so good.

I will easily do a full morning routine every morning in May.
Completed! I started out with "mediation, visualization, affirmations, and journaling", and it transformed as the month went on. I've discovered that my favourite practice is to do a meditation in the morning, affirmations in the shower, and then some journaling throughout the day as my thoughts come up. I realised that having too many things on my morning routine feels like a to-do list, rather than a rejuvenating ritual. My challenge from here is to create a 'morning vibe' rather than a morning routine. I want to get into a mental, emotional and physical space that sets me up for an amazing day – whatever that looks like each morning. I know it definitely involves affirmations + intention setting + meditation.

BONUS goal this month: I will easily create a new publicity opportunity by 31st May.

Completed! I'm super excited that I will be featured on the SOS Podcast. It was so crazy because two days ago, after realizing I hadn't completed this goal and we were getting close to the end of the month, I set the intention that I would complete it that day. A couple of hours later, I got a DM from Liv from the SOS podcast inviting me to be on it. Bam. Just like that. Thanks, Liv!
